Za dwa dni na całym świecie obchodzony będzie Dzień Świętego Patryka. To irlandzkie święto kojarzy mi się z kilkoma rzeczami. Najważniejszymi symbolami są chyba wszechobecny kolor zielony, alkohol (zielone piwo i whisky) oraz leprekaun, strzegący swojego złota na końcu tęczy. Kierując się tymi słowami-kluczami zebrałem kilkadziesiąt produktów z różnych sklepów, które w pewien sposób odnoszą się do atmosfery tego święta. Nie mogło więc tutaj zabraknąć zielonych dodatków, czy akcesoriów alkoholowych. Poniżej pojawił się wazon, przypominający kufel z piwem, tęczowa komoda, lampka w kształcie krasnala, świeca o zapachu skoszonej trawy czy naczynia z motywem koniczyny. W sumie jest to bardzo pozytywne święto. Szkoda, że w Polsce nie obchodzi się go tak hucznie jak w Irlandii czy Stanach Zjednoczonych. A jakie Wy macie zdanie na ten temat?

 

It’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration all over the world in a two days. I associate this Irish feast with few things. Propably, the most important symbols of this day are green color, alcohol (green beer and whisky) and leprechaun protecting his gold at the end of the rainbow. On the basis of these key words I've collected dozens of products, which refer to the atmosphere of this holiday in some way. This is why there are some green accessories or alcohol stuff in my statement. Below you may find a vase, which looks like a glass of beer, rainbow-shaped cabinet, leprechaun lamp, a candle which smells like cut grass or kitchen glassware with a clover pattern. All in all it seems to be very positive day. That’s a pity that in Poland it is not being celebrated so uproariously as in Ireland or the United States. And what do you think about it?

Na początek weekendu przygotowałem post, prezentujący skandynawskie dodatki do domu. Wybrałem pięć dość znanych firm, pochodzących z tego regionu. Tak naprawdę tamtejszych producentów jest tak wielu, że ciężko mi się było zdecydować. Ostatecznie wybrałem jedne z ciekawszych brandów, ale jednocześnie nienależące do najtańszych. Nie znajdziecie więc tutaj przedmiotów z Ikei. Dokładnie prześledziłem ofertę poszczególnych sklepów i umieściłem poniżej te, które od razu wpadły mi w oko. Pominąłem meble, które oferowane są przez niektóre z tych marek. Skupiłem się wyłącznie na dodatkach (dekoracje, zastawa, tekstylia) i ewentualnie elementach oświetlenia.  Mam nadzieję, że spodobają się Wam moje typy. Oczywiście wszystko można kupić w Polsce. Produkty te są dostępne na oficjalnych stronach producentów oraz w sklepach internetowych, takich jak Square Space, Atak Design czy Stereo Design. Zauważyłem także, że ostatnio powstaje coraz więcej sklepów oferujących skandynawski design. Wyjątkowo fajną ofertę ma Scandi Shop, chociaż nie znajdziecie tam przedstawionych niżej marek.

 

For the beginning of the weekend I have prepared a post, which shows Scandinavian home décor stuff. I chose five quite known companies from this region. There are so many producers in this part of Europe, that it was really hard to pick only five of them. Finally, I chose really interesting but not the cheapest brands. You won’t surely find any IKEA items below. I have searched through the offer of the individual stores and I picked the objects, which immediately got my attention. I skipped pieces of furniture, which are manufactured by some of these producers. I have only focused on decorating objects (ornaments, tableware, textiles) and the lighting items. I hope that you’re gonna like my types. Of course all these items can be purchased in Poland. All of them are available on the companies’ official websites and in online stores, e.g. Square Space, Atak Design or Stereo Design. I have noticed that many brand new stores offering the Scandinavian design have been established lately. Scandi Shop is one of the coolest, I guess. Unfortunately, you won’t find brands shown by me there.

Chyba wszyscy polubili ostatnio „żarówkowe” oświetlenie. Można je spotkać niemal wszędzie – w restauracjach, hotelach, biurach, klubach i oczywiście w domach. W przeciągu ostatnich lat w Polsce powstało co najmniej kilka firm, specjalizujących się w produkcji tego typu lamp. Zwykle do wyboru jest kilkanaście różnych kolorów kabla. Do tego dorzucamy samą żarówkę i modne oświetlenie za niewielką cenę gotowe. Oczywiście również znane firmy mają w swojej ofercie tego typu lampy. Szczególną uwagę chciałbym tutaj zwrócić na dwie marki. Pierwszą z nich jest studio projektowe Lee Brooma – młodego brytyjskiego dizajnera, który kilka lat temu wprowadził na rynek ‘tłoczone’ żarówki, przypominające kryształowe szkło. Druga firma to niemiecka marka Ingo Maurer. Posiada ona w swojej ofercie kilka przepięknych i wyjątkowych modeli lamp, z żarówkami pełniącymi główną rolę. Doczepiono do nich cherubinowe skrzydełka, motyle, czy drukowane w 3D ważki. Efekt jest wręcz oszałamiający. Cena również.

It seems that everybody has loved bulb lighting recently. It can be found almost everywhere - in restaurants, hotels, offices, clubs and, obviously, at homes. At least a couple of companies specializing in the production of this type of lighting were set up in Poland in the past few years. They usually let you choose the colour of the cord. Adding the same light bulb gives you a fashionable lighting at a low price. Of course well-known companies also have this type of lamps in their offer. I would therefore like to highlight two brands. The first one is a design studio owned by Lee Broom - a young British designer, who came out with the carved light-bulbs, resembling crystal glassware. The second company is a German brand called Ingo Maurer. It has several beautiful and unique models of lighting, with bulbs coming first. They have cherubin’s wings, butterflies or 3D-printed dragonflies attached. The final effect is astounding as same as the price.

Pierwszy wpis w nowym roku chciałbym poświęcić temu, co teoretycznie ma być najbardziej trendy w projektowaniu wnętrz. Już od kilku tygodni wszystkie blogi i portale dotyczące architektury rozpisują się na temat „koloru roku” wybranego przez Pantone. W 2013 królował „szmaragd” (Emerald), który nazwałbym wręcz „królewskim”. W tym z kolei jest to odcień purpury, o wdzięcznej nazwie „Radiant Orchid”. Odcień wydaje się dość zaskakujący, ale myślę, że we wnętrzach na całym świecie przyda się tego typu ożywienie. Osobiście uważam, że z kolorem należy zachować odpowiedni umiar i stosować go tylko w postaci akcentów, gdyż może przytłoczyć całe pomieszczenie i niekoniecznie spodobać się męskiej części odbiorców. Postanowiłem wybrać kilkanaście elementów, nawiązujących swoim kolorem i fakturą do bieżącego trendu. W moim zestawieniu znalazły się zarówno pokrycia ścian, meble, tekstylia, elementy oświetlenia, akcesoria oraz dzieła sztuki, uwzględniające praktycznie każdy typ pomieszczenia – począwszy od łazienki, a skończywszy na pokoju dziecięcym. Cenowo jest tu różnie – od kilkudziesięciu złotych po kwotę, za którą można kupić wysokiej klasy samochód, czyli „dla każdego coś miłego”.

The first entry in the new year I would like to dedicate this, what in theory is supposed to be the biggest trend in interior design. From several weeks all architecture blogs and web portals have been writing about the "color of the year" chosen by Pantone. In 2013 the trending color was "Emerald", which I could also call "Royal". In the 2014 the trending color is a shade of purple, named "Radiant Orchid". The shade seems to be quite surprising, but I think that interiors all over the world need such an excitement. Personally, I think that this color should be used with an appropriate moderation and applied only in the form of accents, because it can overwhelm the whole room and not necessarily appeal to male audience. I decided to choose several items, relating with their color or texture to the current trend. In my statement are wallcoverings, pieces of furniture, textiles, lighting items, accessories and artwork, including every type of room. Prices are different – from several dozen PLN to the price of high class car, which means that everyone can find something for himself.
